Welcome to TeachRussia!

Because the region of Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia is so large, so full of diverse populations, and still so shrouded in mystery, I know that it can be a daunting place to begin learning about, let alone to consider teaching to your students. However, it is an area so rich in culture, deep in history, and full of possibility, that the educational opportunities it has to offer would be a shame to ignore. As a graduate student of Russian and East European studies who also has a tremendous passion for education and youth populations, I've created this wiki as a place to share some of my recent presentations, research, and ideas with teachers who are interested in integrating the regions of the Former Soviet Union into their classroom and would like a little extra help in getting there. Hopefully this space can offer a few quick and easy boosts to lessons on the region, and together we can help expose students to the myriad of fascinating information and important lessons about Russia which lie within their fingertips!
